Music Ministry

Young Adult Ministry
GSUMC is currently building our Young Adults Ministry, and we'd love for you to be a part of it! Young adults ages 18–30 are welcome to join as we grow in faith, build community, and connect with one another. Children's and Youth Ministry
Our Children’s and Youth Ministry exists to help young people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, build meaningful connections with others, and discover their God-given purpose. We value creating a welcoming, family-centered environment where every child and teenager is known, loved, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Our Pastor
Rev. Laurie Gates-Ward has been serving Good Shepherd UMC for 15 years, and has remained committed to the church’s mission of engaging and empowering everyone to be living disciples of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Laurie has a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Towson State University and a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C..

Good Shepherd Education Center
The Good Shepherd Education Center (GSEC) is an early-childhood program run by Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Waldorf, Maryland, and is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education. It serves children from age two through pre-kindergarten across four programs—Just for Twos, Preschool (ages 3+), Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4+), and a Childcare Center—with both full-day (6 AM–6 PM) and half-day (8:30 AM–12:30 PM) options.
The center uses the MSDE-approved Frog Street curriculum to prepare children for kindergarten through play-based, hands-on learning that builds literacy, math, science, social studies, creative arts, and social-emotional skills, all within a nurturing community of teachers, children, and families.
